These terms apply when you use myafromania.com or buy from MyAfromania, an African fashion and accessories store based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. By using the site or placing an order you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

2Using our website

• Give us accurate information and keep your account details up to date.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Do not misuse the site: no fraud, hacking, scraping, or anything that harms the site or other people.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

3Products and our marketplace

We sell our own products and, through our marketplace, products from independent designers and artisans. We take care to describe and photograph every item accurately.

• Colours can look different on different screens.
• Handmade and printed pieces can vary slightly from the photos. That is part of their character.
• Marketplace items are made and listed by their vendors, but you still buy through MyAfromania and these terms apply.

4Prices and payment

• Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD). Applicable taxes and shipping are calculated and shown at checkout before you pay.
• You can pay by the methods offered at checkout. Card and wallet payments are processed securely by Stripe. Buy now, pay later options such as Affirm, Klarna and Afterpay are provided under their own terms.
• If we find a pricing error, we may cancel the order and refund you in full.

5Orders

Placing an order is an offer to buy. We confirm it by email, and the contract is formed when we accept it. We may decline or cancel an order, for example if an item is out of stock, we cannot deliver to your address, or we suspect fraud. If we cancel after you have paid, we refund you in full.

6Shipping and delivery

Shipping options and costs are shown at checkout based on your address. Delivery times are estimates, not guarantees. Orders shipped outside Canada may be subject to customs duties, import taxes and fees. Those are your responsibility and are not included in our prices.

You can also choose store pickup in Ottawa where it is offered at checkout.

7Returns and refunds

Our returns window is 30 days, and the full details are on our Returns & refunds page. Please read it before you order. It forms part of these terms.

8Intellectual property

The MyAfromania name, logo, photos, text and design belong to us or to our vendors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce or use them commercially without our written permission.

9Our responsibility

We do our best to keep the site available and accurate, but we do not promise it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.

How we handle your personal information is explained in our Privacy policy.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Ontario, unless the law gives you the right to go elsewhere.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. The version in place when you place your order applies to that order.
